When to Call 999 Instead of Booking an Urgent Appointment

Our urgent face-to-face consultations are designed for a wide range of non-life-threatening medical concerns. However, some symptoms require an immediate emergency response.

If you or someone else is experiencing any of the following, do not book this appointment — call 999 immediately:

  • - Symptoms of a stroke (e.g. facial drooping, weakness on one side, difficulty speaking or understanding speech)

  • - Severe difficulty breathing or choking

  • - Loss of consciousness or unresponsiveness

  • - Severe bleeding that cannot be controlled

  • - Seizures, particularly if ongoing or repeated without recovery

  • - Severe allergic reactions (e.g. swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, collapse)

  • - Serious head injury or trauma (e.g. following a fall, accident, or assault)

  • - Sudden, severe abdominal pain

    - Suspected overdose or poisoning

  • - Any condition where a person’s life may be at immediate risk

If you are unsure whether your symptoms are serious, it is always safest to seek emergency assistance by calling 999.
